OHSAS 18001 standard is going to terminate
Â
The OHSAS 18001 standard has been replaced with the ISO 45001 standard. All certified organizations will have to be certified according the new standard ISO 45001 until 30/09/21. However, organizations which are certified according the OHSAS 18001 do not break any rules currently.
Â
The new standard puts stress on conformity with new standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. ISO 45001 includes new requirements on understanding the organization and its context, on definition of interested parties or leadership commitment. On the other hand, some requirements are more general, and the terminology to the other standards mentioned above has unified.
Â
The certification body AUDISO has been accredited for performing audits according to the new standard ISO 45001 and it is ready to offer its clients new certifications. An evaluation of a changeover from OHSAS 18001 to ISO 45001 requirements will be done during regular surveillance audits, re-certification audits or extraordinary audits. The particular steps will be discussed with each client.
